Description
Discussion of the NAWCC's Mission and Operations
MISSION STATEMENT
This NAWCC Members Forum is on the Internet in order to facilitate the exchange of information, ideas,
questions and opinions among the members of the NAWCC on all issues regarding the NAWCC. The appropriate
subjects of discussion on this Forum are any issues affecting NAWCC's organization, committees, events,
activities, financing, structure (including the Museum, Library, School, Seminar, Web Site, etc.). The
discussion of questions on technical horological issues and horological research issues are NOT part of
this Forum. There are other Internet sites for these subjects.
All NAWCC members in good standing who have e-mail access may subscribe to the Forum. Only members may
subscribe. There is no cost to subscribe.
This Members Forum is primarily a vehicle for the members to discuss these issues among themselves, but
it is expected that the leadership of the NAWCC (i.e., officers, directors, committee chairs, trustees,
etc.), if they have e-mail access, may become subscribers in order to at least monitor the ongoing discussion.
Members of the leadership are also encouraged to post their personal opinions on any of the ideas and
threads being discussed.
The Forum is uncensored, and the members' postings are not screened or approved by the NAWCC. The spirit
of the Forum is one of openness and tolerance, and critical comments, deviating opinions, and subjective
points of view by members on the activities of the NAWCC are encouraged. Nevertheless, a certain level
of civilized behavior will be encouraged, and language that is clearly libelous or a personal attack on
fellow members, will be discouraged.
Disclaimer
While this Members Forum is operated by NAWCC members for NAWCC members, it is independent of the NAWCC
and is not an official function of the NAWCC. It was purposely established as an independent forum for
the discussion NAWCC matters. Subscriber's opinions posted to the Forum are their own and do not necessarily
represent the Forum (nor the NAWCC).

list, and you should begin receiving the posted messages 2 or 3 days after sending your request.
In return, you will receive the e-mail address of the Forum to which postings may be sent.
Note: The Administrator and the Forum itself have different e-mail addresses.
The Administrator will check each subscription request against the NAWCC membership records and maintain
the Forum subscriber list, which controls who automatically gets, via e-mail, a copy of any postings to
the Forum.

New e-mail address
to the Members Forum Administrator State that this is a Change
of Address. This must be sent from your current subscriber e-mail address.
To Post E-mail to the Forum
This Forum operates as an automated "mail-list," i.e., participants send their contributions
to the e-mail address of the Forum:<nawcc@egroups.com>, and the system automatically resends the
contribution over the Internet as e-mail to all the subscribers.
NOTE: The eGroup e-mail Reply function sends replies to the entire Forum. This is different in
action from some other mailing lists for which a reply is sent only to the originator. To send only to
the originator you must cut and paste his/her address into the "To" field, so as to replace
the address of the Forum which is automatically placed there.
Monitoring and Rules
1. As long as the subscribers stick to the intended subject matter and express their views and opinions
in a lawful and civilized manner, any contributions are welcome.
2. In the spirit of tolerance that permeates the Internet, both praise and criticism may be faster, more
pointed and more direct than in traditional printed media. However, personal vendettas, insults, etc.,
will not be tolerated.
3. Sending attachments to the forum is prohibited.. Many members with free mailreaders cannot receive
attachments. Members overseas and members that connect by long distance pay by the minute and attachments
increase their expenses to download their mail.
4. The Forum is intended mainly to be a democratic, self-policing medium, and all subscribers are encouraged
to communicate directly (i.e., off-list) with the originator of any posts which go against the spirit,
the purpose and the rules of the Forum.
