October 1997

Abstract

Volume 139 no.10

In this issue Richard Good completes his article on Clock Watches with an account of a magnificent watch by Sir John Bennett which provides the cover picture. Paul Shrouder describes a jig to assist in the production of Breguet curves on balance springs while John Robey presents a jig for refacing longcase clock pallets. Archie Perkins provides a further installment of his watch jewelling series, Jim Nicholson shows how to make jewelling accessories for a staking tool and John Wilding completes his piece on the restoration of Turret Clock flies. Ian Wright and Martin Foster review the new ETA CD-ROM. An added bonus is an unusually large number of readers' letters on a variety of topics.
