Abstract
Volume 139 no.9
Richard Good begins a two part article describing important Clock Watches, the first is by Thomas Mudge.
Eric Watson outlines the construction of a clock with a version of the Daniels Co-axial Escapement - the
first time this has been used on a clock. In other workshop articles John Wilding begins a two part description
of the restoration of a fly on a turret clock and Archie Perkins starts a major series on jewelling in
pocket watches. Roy Cooper praises a Clock Museum he came across on a visit to New Zealand. Alan Downing
casts a rather jaundiced eye at a new book on Breguet written for the modern company by a descendent.
The news section has a 'scoop' on the forthcoming mass production of a Swiss wristwatch with a Daniels
Co-axial Escapement and a report of high failure rates among UK candidates on the new WOSTEP course.
