de Carle, Donald: "The Watchmaker's Lathe And How To Use It". 1952. N.A.G. Press, London, .
[Watches & Clocks (repair, tools): Useful. Mainly of historical interest, but with some good material
on lathe usage. Richard Watkins (richard@calvados.apana.org.au)]
-
Goodrich, Ward. "The Watchmaker's Lathe". 1903 (1979 reprint of 1952 edition of a book first
published in 1903). National American Watch Tool and Supply Co.) An excellent book on the subject, with
a good discussion of lathe construction and history, description of specialized chucks and their uses,
how to make tools for lathe work, how to use the lathe for turning, wheelcutting, etc. I think this is
a much better book than DeCarle's on the subject; DeCarle spends half of his book cataloging various brands
of lathes and their accessories. Don Holly <HOLLY@psl.wisc.edu>]
-
