Introduction

This is an Internet World Wide Web information retrieval system for locating shareware. Software in most major archives is indexed and can be searched by keyword. Searches can be done on file descriptions, date, size, and file name. Once shareware is found in the Library, the Internet addresses of the archives and their mirrors can be obtained, and provision is made for subsequent downloading.

The Virtual Shareware Library was developed by Dr. Ziga Turk of the University of Ljubljana Civil Engineering Department in Slovenia.

The original Virtual Shareware Library has been replaced by a similar shareware search function operated by C|Net.

The search covers software for most major operating systems.
